Skydance Paramount Plans to Remove Around 2,000 United States Roles – Report
Paramount Skydance is scheduled to initiate mass layoffs beginning on 27 October, cutting about 2,000 US jobs as part of a expense reduction strategy valued at $2bn led by top executive David Ellison.
These job cuts follow the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed in August worth $8.4bn.
Additional overseas workforce reductions are likely, with the company intending to disclose complete information in its Q3 financial results scheduled for November 10.
Prior news had indicated that Paramount was looking to reduce between 2,000 to 3,000 positions by the beginning of next month.
Until December 2024, the company retained about 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts along with 3,500 temporary project employees.
